Q-Media Red Wing-Lake City, MN is looking for a News Reporter-Anchor. Duties will include:
Meetings
Interviews with news sources
Anchoring Newscasts & News Programs
Develop & maintain relationships with newsmakers in listening area.
Public appearances & remotes.
Possible airshift or voicetracking or both.
Coordination with GM & Ops Mgr on budget, station policy, news coverage.
We are rebuilding our news department.
We use Adobe Audtion and Audio Vault in all studios.
We are a small market operation, so we all chip in.

Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be knowledgeable in local community and national events.

Requirements:
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write news reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to posses good telephone and communication skills, and operate a digital editor and other broadcast audio equipment. Ability to operate a computer for general office functionality. High PR skills for frequent interaction with the local community and employees. The employee must occasionally travel locally and work long hours during breaking news events. Ability to deal with high level of stress because of the deadlines.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a valid driver's license and state mandated auto insurance.
